Pakistan wins two golds at Asian MMA Championship 2024

Eman Khan and Bano Butt each clinch gold medals in their respective categories

Team Pakistan delivered a strong performance at the Asian MMA Championship 2024 held at the DHA Sports Complex in Lahore, with Eman Khan and Bano Butt each clinching gold medals in their respective categories.

The event coincided with the BRAVE Combat Federation’s return with BRAVE CF 85. This highly anticipated event showcased top MMA fighters from Pakistan alongside internationally renowned athletes, highlighting the country's growing prominence in the sport.

Bano Butt triumphed in the senior women’s atomweight final, defeating Kazakhstan’s Gulnaz Abdrakhmanova to secure her gold.

Eman Khan also excelled, earning her gold by submitting Kazakhstan’s Dinara Ayapova with a rear-naked choke in the first round.

However, Bushra Ahmed fell short in her final, losing to Kazakhstan’s Adel Makhametova, and secured a silver medal.

In the men’s category, Pakistan faced setbacks as fighters Zeeshan Akbar, Shahab Ali, and Abdul Manan lost their crucial matches.

Overall, Team Pakistan earned a total of six medals—two golds and four silvers.

Kazakhstan and Tajikistan led the medals table with seven golds each, followed by Bahrain with three golds. Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan both secured two gold medals.
