Taylor Swift praises Sabrina Carpenter's new album Short n’ Sweet and Zoë Kravitz’s film Blink Twice
Taylor Swift took to Instagram on Friday, August 23, to express her admiration for the work of two of her close friends, Sabrina Carpenter and Zoë Kravitz. In her Instagram Stories, Swift praised Carpenter’s newly released album Short n’ Sweet and Kravitz’s directorial debut film Blink Twice.
Of Carpenter, who previously opened for Swift on the Latin American, Asian, and Australian legs of her Eras Tour, the pop superstar wrote, “Short. Sweet. Has made an extraordinary album.” She also encouraged her followers to support Carpenter’s latest project, sharing a photo of the two at a Kansas City Chiefs game in October and adding, “Go support our girl!!”
Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, features the Billboard Hot 100-topping hit “Please Please Please” and the new single “Taste,” which comes with a music video co-starring Jenna Ortega. Carpenter reposted Swift’s shout-out on her own Instagram Story, simply writing, “:’) ily.”
Swift also raved about Blink Twice, a psychological thriller directed by Kravitz and starring her fiancé, actor Channing Tatum. “This film is incredible,” Swift wrote, sharing the film’s poster. “Thrilling, twisted, wickedly funny, and visually stunning. The performances are phenomenal.” She continued to praise Kravitz, saying, “Zoë Kravitz conceptualized this, wrote it, obsessed over every detail, and directed it with such a clear and bold vision. I’m so blown away by what she’s accomplished here and I can’t wait to watch everyone discover this film and this brilliant filmmaker.”
The 14-time Grammy winner’s post follows a recent social media post by Tatum, in which he shared a video of a date night with Kravitz at one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows at Wembley. Tatum captioned the video, “The love is real and @taylorswift13 is an absolute force!”
Swift and Kravitz have been close friends for years, even collaborating on Swift’s Midnights track “Lavender Haze.” In 2022, Swift praised Kravitz’s artistic integrity, telling GQ, “Zoë’s sense of self is what makes her such an exciting artist, and such an incredible friend.”
