Sabrina Carpenter's new music video for her single "Taste" has quickly gained attention for its blend of dark humor, over-the-top violence, and a surprising kiss between Carpenter and actress Jenna Ortega. The video, which is part of Carpenter's just-released sixth album Short n' Sweet, opens with a "graphic violence" warning, preparing viewers for a series of exaggerated, cartoon-like confrontations.

The playful yet gory narrative concludes with both characters calmly walking away from the boyfriend's funeral, sipping coffee together. Described by Variety as "hilarious" and "Tarantino-ish," the video has sparked conversations online for its unique blend of violence and humor.

"Taste" is one of the tracks on Carpenter’s new album Short n' Sweet, which dropped on Friday. The song was co-written by Carpenter alongside Julia Michaels and Amy Allen, with production by John Ryan and Ian Kirkpatrick. The album also includes singles like "Please Please Please" and "Espresso," as well as new tracks such as "Sharpest Tools," "Coincidence," and "Dumb & Poetic."

In an interview with Variety, Carpenter described the album as “the hot older sister” of her previous album Emails. "It’s my second ‘big girl’ album," she said. "It’s a companion but it’s not the same."

Carpenter's "Sweet n' Sour" tour is set to begin in North America on September 23 in Columbus, Ohio, before heading to the UK and Europe in 2025. The North American leg has already sold out 33 arena shows, including venues like Madison Square Garden and the Crypto.com Arena. Supporting acts include Amaarae, Griff, and Declan McKenna, with Rachel Chinouriri joining for the international dates.
