The much-anticipated trailer for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, the fourth installment in the beloved film series, has exclusively debuted in UK cinemas. Despite fans eagerly awaiting its online release, the trailer has yet to be made available on digital platforms. However, an official poster for the movie has been released, hinting that the trailer's online launch might be imminent.
Earlier this month, the trailer surprised audiences when it was shown alongside screenings of It Ends With Us. The film, which is set to hit cinemas on February 14, 2025, sees the return of Renée Zellweger as the iconic Bridget Jones. The trailer offers a first glimpse of Bridget navigating life as a single mother of two children, supported by her close friends Sharon (Sally Phillips), Jude (Shirley Henderson), and Tom (James Callis).
Fans were particularly excited to see the return of Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver, who was absent from Bridget Jones's Baby. In a humorous scene from the trailer, Daniel, now an unlikely babysitter, concocts a cocktail he cheekily names a "dirty bitch," later renaming it a "filthy bitch," in a nod to his character's notorious lines from the first film.
The star-studded cast of the sequel also includes Emma Thompson, reprising her role as Dr. Rawlings, as well as new additions Chiwetel Ejiofor, Leo Woodall, Isla Fisher, Josette Simon, Nico Parker, and Leila Farzad. Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones will return as Bridget's parents, Colin and Pamela.
The trailer's debut comes just after the official announcement that filming for the movie wrapped on August 8, 2024. Fans now eagerly await the online release of the trailer to get a further look at what’s in store for Bridget in this latest chapter.
