Sabrina Carpenter, the pop star known for hits like "Espresso" and "Please Please Please," recently opened up about the inspiration behind the title of her sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet, set to release on August 23. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Carpenter explained that the album title reflects the impact of some of the shortest relationships she’s experienced. “I thought about some of these relationships and how some of them were the shortest I've ever had, and they affected me the most,” said Carpenter, noting that her petite stature had little to do with the name choice.

Carpenter further discussed how writing music is about capturing moments, acknowledging that it's often difficult for listeners to grasp the passage of time through a singular album. She emphasized that she’s "not the same person" as when the songs were written, adding depth to the personal nature of the project.

This week, fans speculated about Carpenter's personal life as breakup rumors circulated regarding her relationship with actor Barry Keoghan. Despite the rumors, a source told People that the relationship is "on and off," and Keoghan seemingly responded to the speculation by liking one of Carpenter's Instagram posts.
