Guillermo del Toro, the acclaimed Oscar-winning filmmaker, has captured the internet's attention with live updates on Twitter regarding his stay in a reportedly haunted hotel room in Aberdeen, Scotland. Del Toro, currently filming his much-anticipated adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, shared his experiences from what is claimed to be the "most haunted" room in the hotel, after one of his producers left the room due to "odd electrical and physical occurrences."

On August 20, 2024, del Toro tweeted, "I always stay in ‘the most haunted rooms,’ but only once did I experience anything supernatural—the rest of the time: nothing. I have high hopes." Despite his initial excitement, the atmosphere quickly turned eerie. In an update posted on August 22, 2024, he noted, "Nothing has happened yet, but the atmosphere in the room is oppressive, and I am not gonna spend much more time there. It may be suggestion, but at this point, I kept it but am sleeping in another room—I need 6 hours of sleep to have a good shooting day."

As concerns from fans grew, del Toro reassured them with a promise of further updates, stating, "Anything happens, and I will update. The room has more than vibes; there is something angry and territorial there. A shred of rage." In a later post, he revealed he was "trying for an EVP on my iPhone," referring to the electronic voice phenomena commonly sought in paranormal investigations.

The situation has captivated social media users, with many commenting on del Toro's ongoing "beef" with the ghost. The filmmaker's haunted hotel experience has garnered widespread attention, as fans eagerly await more updates from him.
