Jamie Lee Curtis recently took to Instagram to announce the completion of filming for the highly anticipated Disney sequel, Freakier Friday.
The actress shared a “no filter” selfie, expressing her excitement for the project and reflecting on the journey. “Mommy was up way effing past her bedtime. No filter. Little sleep. Lots of laughs and a little blood, much sweat and copious tears. We made it for all of you, and I can't wait for you to see it,” Curtis wrote in the caption.
She also shared her enthusiasm about reuniting with her co-star Lindsay Lohan and working with new talents such as Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons under the direction of Nisha Ganatra.
The sequel comes over two decades after the original Freaky Friday film, which starred Curtis and Lohan as a mother-daughter duo who swap bodies. Fans have eagerly awaited this continuation, which Lohan confirmed in March. Curtis had previously hinted at the possibility of a sequel, calling it “a nice little revisit.”
In addition to the returning cast members, including Lohan and Curtis, Freakier Friday will introduce new faces, such as Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons. The film will also see the return of several beloved characters from the first movie, with Chad Michael Murray, Pei-Pei, and other original cast members reprising their roles.
Curtis’ Instagram post gives fans a glimpse of her excitement for the film, as well as the camaraderie on set. With the filming wrapped, anticipation continues to build for the movie's release.
