Jennifer Lopez helped Ben Affleck 'become a family man' before filing for divorce
Jennifer Lopez reportedly played a key role in helping her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, “become a family man again” before she filed for divorce.
An insider told People on Thursday that when the now-separated couple got married in July 2022, they made their blended family a top priority in their relationship.
“Family is very important to them, and together they were family people — and the connection doesn’t end,” the source said.
The “Argo” actor, 52, shares three children, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. On the other hand, Lopez, 55, is the mother of twins Max and Emme, 16, whom she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Since rekindling their romance in 2021, Affleck and Lopez have often been seen with their children at amusement parks, outdoor movie screenings, and basketball games.
The “Justice League” actor has also enjoyed quality time with his kids in Los Angeles, most recently taking his son, Samuel, on a motorcycle ride.
The source also told People that Lopez and Affleck are “very different people” — noting that the singer is “super public and wants to go out,” while the actor is “more of an introvert and is happy to hang out at home.”
On Tuesday, Lopez ended her marriage to Affleck on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding.
Sources told Page Six that the “Jenny from the Block” singer chose this meaningful date to file for divorce to assert herself as “a woman standing up in her own way” after feeling “humiliated” that the marriage didn’t succeed.
The “Good Will Hunting” actor reportedly showed “no interest” in trying to repair the relationship, with his estranged wife listing their separation date as April 26.
“He hasn’t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself,” a source told People on Wednesday.
