Ann Coulter quickly deleted a post that mocked Tim Walz's 17-year-old son Gus, who has a non-verbal learning disorder (NVLD), after facing backlash.

Gus had recently gained attention for his emotional reaction to the Minnesota governor's speech at the Democratic National Convention, where Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the nomination with Walz as her running mate.

In her now-deleted post on X, Coulter commented, “Talk about weird …” She later removed the post, explaining that she did so after learning about Gus’s condition. Coulter defended her action, claiming that it was Democrats who often label others as “weird” in a humorous context, referring to critics of Republican figures like former President Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance.

Despite the removal, Coulter faced significant criticism from those defending Gus and others with neurodivergent conditions. Rosie O’Donnell condemned Coulter as “a cruel heartless woman – she’s the worst,” while Star Jones expressed strong disapproval, stating that “There is a special place in Hell for adults who bully children” and criticizing Coulter for using her platform to target vulnerable individuals.

Ana Navarro also spoke out, condemning those who attacked Gus. She highlighted that Gus, who has ADHD, anxiety, and NVLD, struggles with emotional regulation and emphasized that such attacks on a non-involved teenager were deeply inappropriate. She further criticized Coulter, stating, “They need to leave Gus Walz the f— alone.”

Tim Walz’s wife, Gwen Walz, had previously shared with People that Gus’s NVLD, ADHD, and anxiety are part of what she calls his “superpower.”
