Two men shot dead in separate incidents
Two young men were killed and two others injured in separate violent incidents across the metropolitan city on Thursday.
In the first incident, 32-year-old Arif was critically injured in a shooting in Faqir Colony, Orangi Town. He later succumbed to his injuries.
According to police, the fatal shooting is believed to have resulted from a turf war between two rival groups involved in drug trafficking. Arif, a known drug peddler, was reportedly shot by Tahir, who belongs to a rival gang of drug pushers.
Preliminary investigation suggests the involvement of rival factions from the Lyari gang war.
In a second incident, 23-year-old Mohammad Amir was shot dead in Mujahid Colony, Dalmia. The body was shifted to JPMC for a post-mortem examination.
According to Shahzad Ilyas, SHO of Aziz Bhatti police station, the killing appears to be linked to a long-standing family feud. Amir, a resident of Dalmia Street No 5 and originally from Khyber district of K-P, was shot twice in the neck and chest by two gunmen riding a motorcycle. Police recovered two 30-bore pistol shells from the crime scene.
