Five of two families die in road crashes

At least five people, including two children, were killed and six others injured in two road accidents in Rahim Yar Khan on Thursday.

According to local officials, a motorcycle rammed into a tractor-trolley parked on a roadside after its wheel broke free. Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Basti Gahna Khan Labana, was going on the motorcycle with his family members, 23-year-old Aasma Bibi, 45-year-old Nadia, six-year-old Tania, four-year-old Akhtar, 10-year-old Ayesha and two-year-old Abbas.

He lost control over the motorcycle and it rammed into the tractor-trolley loaded with soil that had bene parked along the road. As a result, Ghulam Mustafa, Tania and Akhtar died on the spot, while Aasma, Ayesha, Nadia and Abbas were injured. They were shifted to a hospital by rescue workers.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her condolences with the bereaved family on the death of its three members in the traffic collision. She directed the authorities to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.

In another incident, a speeding car went out of control of its driver and collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

Shakeel, 27, and Naveed, 25, died on the spot because of the accident, while their mother Maqsood Bibi and Liaqat were injured . They were shifted to a hospital.
