BBC announces celebrity edition and fourth season of 'The Traitors' U.K. at Edinburgh TV Festival

Fans of The Traitors U.K. are in for a double treat as the BBC has announced both a fourth season and a celebrity edition of the popular reality show. The announcement was made during the Edinburgh TV Festival, ahead of the upcoming third season, which was recently filmed in the Scottish Highlands. While the participants and broadcast dates for the nine-part celebrity version and 12-episode fourth season have yet to be revealed, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling continuation of the series.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the U.K. edition of the psychological gameshow is produced by Studio Lambert, a part of All3Media. Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment, expressed excitement about the news, stating, “‘The Traitors’ has well and truly established itself as an unmissable highlight of the year... It will once again be fascinating for our audiences to see who’ll outwit, outplay, and outlast. Let the mind games begin!”

Mike Cotton, creative director for unscripted at Studio Lambert and an executive producer on The Traitors, added, “We are thrilled to be inviting some celebrities into our castle to come and play the game... There’s a whole lot of exciting treachery and deception yet to come from the Highlands… Claudia’s going to have to pack some extra knitwear.”

In addition to the show, a companion podcast titled The Traitors: Uncloaked is set to release 12 new episodes, hosted by comedian Ed Gamble.

During the same Edinburgh panel, the BBC also announced a new sitcom starring Dawn French, Can You Keep a Secret? and a two-part documentary Signs for Living featuring Rose Ayling-Ellis. Additionally, the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing will be signed live with British Sign Language for the first time in its 20-year history.
