PTI’s Sher Afzal Marwat reaches office after arrest by Islamabad Police

Marwat was detained near Tarnol, where PTI workers had gathered for a scheduled rally

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat was arrested by Islamabad Police on Thursday and later released, according to police sources.

Marwat was detained near Tarnol, where PTI workers had gathered for a scheduled rally. Reports also surfaced of arrests at Express Chowk.

The police moved Marwat to the Golra police station. However, a spokesperson for Islamabad Police confirmed his release later in the day.

A video showing Marwat and his associates clashing with police officers before his arrest has been widely circulated. The footage depicts resistance against the police, including pushing and verbal abuse directed at officers.

Meanwhile, PTI has postponed its planned rally in Islamabad, originally set for today, to September 8.

The district administration had earlier revoked the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the event, citing security concerns. The administration has since granted permission for the rescheduled rally.
