The police on Thursday recovered a trader kidnapped for Rs5 million ransom and arrested four persons.

The police on Thursday recovered a trader kidnapped for Rs5 million ransom and arrested four persons.


The police said that Junaid Iqbal was abducted from outside his shop at the busy commercial centre of Hassanabdal on August 20.


Addressing a press conference in Hassanabdal, District Police Officer Attock Dr Akhtar Abbas said the police were tipped off that the abductors were trying to shift the kidnap victim from Hassanabdal to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

He said a police team intercepted a Suzuki van on Pathargarh Road near Jablat Bridge on Thursday and recovered the trader.

The police also arrested four persons who were travelling in the van. The alleged kidnappers were identified as Rasheed Khan, a resident of Mansehra, Akbar Khan of Charsadda, Noorzada from Swat and Gohar Rehman from Swabi.
