49% urban slum dwellers given ownership

Provision of ownership rights to residents of slum areas across the province was discussed in a meeting presided over by Senior Member of the Board of Revenue (SMBR) of Punjab Nabeel Javed.

During a briefing, it was revealed that Punjab is home to a total of 4,300 notified slums, spread across the province's nine divisions.

Of these, approximately 3,200 are located in rural areas, while 999 slums are situated in urban regions. It was reported that 49% of the urban slum residents have paid all dues and obtained ownership rights.
