‘Career prosecutor vs criminal’ US Rep Jasmine Crocktt compares Kamala Harris to Donald Trump at DNC
U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett is known for her strong defense of Vice President Kamala Harris and often does so with a touch of wit.
On Monday night at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, she stayed true to her reputation, beginning her speech by comparing the resumes of the two leading candidates.
Crockett highlighted Donald Trump's history in New York real estate, including allegations of discrimination and the Stormy Daniels scandal, contrasting it with Harris's accomplishments as a prosecutor and politician. "She became a career prosecutor while he became a career criminal," Crockett quipped.
She also became emotional as she recalled her first meeting with Harris, describing it as a moment that gave her the drive to push forward in her legislative career.
The Democratic National Convention, held in Chicago from August 19-22, will culminate with Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepting the party's nomination for the 2024 Election on Thursday.
Crockett, who represents a district in North Texas, has made headlines for her outspoken support of Harris and previously worked as a public defender and civil rights attorney.
The DNC will be held at the United Center, the venue for the 1996 convention where President Bill Clinton was nominated for a second term.
The convention's themes include "For the People," "A Bold Vision for America's Future," "A Fight for Our Freedoms," and "For Our Future."
