Billie Eilish has claimed the title of Spotify’s most streamed monthly artist, a distinction previously held by The Weeknd.

The streaming giant made the announcement on Monday, August 19, marking a significant achievement for the 22-year-old artist.

This milestone comes after Eilish surpassed 100 million monthly listeners in June 2024, making her the third and youngest artist ever to reach this figure, following The Weeknd and Taylor Swift.

Eilish’s accomplishment was anticipated by The Weeknd, who expressed his support on social media last week. On August 15, he retweeted a post noting that she was just shy of his record, adding the caption, “Let’s go !” alongside heart, prayer, and line graph emojis.

Eilish currently has eight tracks in Spotify’s Billions Club, which recognizes songs that have surpassed one billion streams. Among these are “Lovely” with Khalid, which has accumulated 2.8 billion plays, “Bad Guy” with 2.5 billion, and “When the Party’s Over” with 1.8 billion streams.

Her recent album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, released in April, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and features hits like “Birds of a Feather,” “Chihiro,” and “Lunch.”

Eilish’s previous albums, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and Happier Than Ever, both secured the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for three weeks each.
