Brad Pitt is reportedly devastated by Shiloh's name change and estrangement amid custody battle

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter, Shiloh, has officially changed her name. The 18-year-old, formerly known as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, will now be legally recognized as Shiloh Jolie, People confirms. Shiloh filed for the name change on her 18th birthday in May.

Shiloh is one of six children Jolie and Pitt share, including Maddox (22), Zahara (19), Pax (20), Knox (15), and Vivienne (15).

In July, Shiloh's name change petition faced a delay because a court was unable to complete a necessary background check. The hearing was rescheduled for August 19 due to a clerical error, according to her lawyer Peter Levine.

Shiloh proceeded with the next step in California’s name-change process by publishing a notice in the Los Angeles Times about her request to change her name to "Shiloh Jolie." California law requires such announcements to be published in a newspaper for one month before a judge can approve the petition.

A source close to Pitt revealed that he was aware of Shiloh’s decision and was upset about her dropping his last name. The source noted, "He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them."
