Elizabeth Debicki thinks "The Crown" ended perfectly
Elizabeth Debicki, the actress who played Princess Diana in the final two seasons of Netflix's "The Crown," thinks the show ended exactly where it should have. In a recent interview with People magazine, Debicki expressed her satisfaction with the show's conclusion, stating that she doesn't think it needs any follow-up seasons.
"I think it ended in the right place, really," Debicki said. "I think it respected its own cycle in a way." She praised the show's creator, Peter Morgan, for wrapping up the story in a delicate and intricate manner. "He did an amazing job wrapping up such an enormous journey," she said.
Debicki took over the role of Princess Diana from Emma Corrin in season five and played the character until the show's conclusion in season six. The final season centered on the final days before Princess Diana's fatal car crash in August 1997. Debicki received two Emmy nominations for her performance, including for the 2023 and 2024 ceremonies.
The Crown, which ran from 2016 to 2023, followed the political rivalries and romances of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and how they shaped Britain's second half of the 20th century. Despite its conclusion, the show's impact will likely be felt for years to come.
