Sahiba reveals how Rambo saved her from drowning
Pakistani actor and comedian Afzal Khan, more commonly known as his stage name, Jan Rambo, seems to have proven himself a hero both on and off screen. During an interview with a local television channel, actor Sahiba, who also happens to be Rambo's wife, recalled how he saved her from drowning on set one time.
Remembering the time they were filming a music video, Sahiba said, "There were lots of shots in the music video where I was running behind and Rambo was ahead of me. We were going into water as well, with music playing in the back as part of the montages." She continued to recount how after the director yelled, "cut!" Rambo went ahead and she was left behind.
"He looked around and saw that I was nowhere to be found. I was pulled far away by the currents," the actor said. "Then a real-life hero awoke in him, and he pulled me out out of the water." She humorously added, "As much as our work lives involve filminess, you'd be surprised how filmy our personal lives are as well. He turned into a genuine action hero and saved me."
Sahiba recently appeared in another interview, this time with her husband, where he suggested that there should be a single award show for the entire Pakistani showbiz industry. "I have received Nigar and other film awards in the past," he said. "But I feel disappointed that despite working for 32 years and acting in 200 films, I have yet to receive an award like the Pride of Performance," said the action hero.
He furthered on to say awards these days are given based on connections, and he does not want any award that comes through recommendations. "An award given on merit brings true pride; a recommended award does not bring genuine happiness," he said.
