Bridgerton casts Yerin Ha as Benedict’s love interest Sophie Beckett for Season 4
Yerin Ha has been cast as Benedict Bridgerton’s love interest for Season 4 of "Bridgerton." She will portray Sophie Beckett in the upcoming season of the popular Shondaland-Netflix series.
This season will focus on Benedict's (played by Luke Thompson) romance, based on Julia Quinn's third "Bridgerton" novel, "An Offer From a Gentleman."
The official synopsis for Season 4 reveals that the story will center on the bohemian second son, Benedict, who, despite his brothers being happily married, is reluctant to settle down until he encounters the enchanting Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball. Beckett, the Lady in Silver, is the illegitimate daughter of an earl and one of his maids, raised in her father’s home but never publicly recognized as his child.
Yerin Ha is known to American audiences from her role as Kwan Ha in the Paramount+ adaptation of the "Halo" video games. Her other credits include Australian series like "Reef Break," "Troppo," and "Bad Behaviour," as well as the indie horror film "Sissy." She will next be seen in the Max prequel series "Dune: Prophecy," set to premiere in November.
Ha is represented by WME and Morrissey Management. "Bridgerton" Season 3, released in two parts between May and June 2024, continues to be a massive hit, with all three seasons ranking among the top 10 most-watched English-language TV shows on Netflix. Season 3 alone has garnered over 103 million views. The show, renewed for Season 4 in 2021, is expected to continue beyond the upcoming season due to its popularity.
The series is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Tom Verica from Shondaland, along with Chris Van Dusen, who developed the show. Jess Brownell serves as the showrunner and executive producer. Shondaland has an overall deal with Netflix.
