Matthew Perry's last words before fatal ketamine dose revealed in court documents

Matthew Perry reportedly requested his longtime assistant to administer ketamine three times on the day he passed away, with his final words reflecting his dependency on the drug.

As per court documents obtained by NBC News on Thursday, Perry asked his assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, to "shoot me up with a big one" — referring to another dose of the dissociative anesthetic — shortly before he was discovered face down and unresponsive in his hot tub on October 28, 2023.

The information emerged after Iwamasa, 59, and four others were charged in connection with Perry's death on Thursday afternoon.

According to the documents, Perry, who died at 54, requested Iwamasa to administer his first dose of ketamine at 8:30 a.m. on October 28. He received a second dose approximately four hours later while watching a movie at his $5.2 million Los Angeles home.

He then asked Iwamasa to administer a third dose and to prepare his jacuzzi. After following Perry’s instructions, Iwamasa left to run errands, only to return and find him deceased.

The "Friends" star had previously discussed using ketamine to manage his depression, but in the month before his death, he was misusing the drug.

According to Iwamasa's plea deal, he had been administering ketamine — which is medically used as anesthesia to help patients detach from their pain — to Perry for about a month.

Prosecutors allege that Dr. Salvador Plasencia, 42, taught Iwamasa how to administer the drug after meeting Perry around late September 2023. He allegedly provided Perry with liquid ketamine and lozenges.

Though Perry was receiving regular ketamine treatment from a doctor (his last official dose was given two weeks before his death), he directed his assistant to continue obtaining the drug from Plasencia and later from a man named Erik Fleming, both of whom were charged.

Additionally, Plasencia allegedly colluded with Dr. Mark Chavez, 54, to acquire more ketamine for Perry and profit from it.
