Same number perish in Bannu-DI Khan Road crash

PESHAWAR:

Two police constables and three civilians were seriously wounded when a police mobile unit was targeted on the Pir Bala Road at Warsak, the local police told the media.

According to the police, the mobile unit was on routine patrol when it was hit by explosives. The force of the blast ended up wounding three civilians and two police constables.

Police backup arrived in the area, and search operations got underway in the immediate proximity of the blast. However, no arrests were made till the filing of this report.

The wounded were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital where their condition was said to be stable. They were discharged after initial treatment.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and 17 others seriously injured when two vehicles collided on the Bannu-DI Khan Road on Friday.

According to Rescue 1122, a passenger bus and truck were coming from opposite sides and collided at Shor Kot area on main Bannu Road.

The victims were heading to Iran for pilgrimage and hailed from Parachinar district.
