Jobless man shoots daughter to death

A man allegedly killed his teenage daughter to death and critically injured another in Bhawan village, Chakwal on Thursday and fled after committing the crime.

According to the police, Muhammad Zaman, a truck driver, who had been unemployed for a long time, opened fire on his two daughters, 17-year-old Noor Bibi and 13-year-old Rabia Bibi, killing Noor Bibi on the spot. Rabia Bibi was critically injured and was rushed to DHQ Hospital Chakwal.

After receiving information about the murder, SHO Kallar Kahar, along with a heavy contingent, reached the crime scene and took the body into custody.

Sources revealed that Zaman had been facing financial difficulties due to a prolonged period of unemployment. He had recently sold his house and was entangled in a property dispute with his brother. Zaman's wife was staying at her parents' house due to ongoing domestic disputes.

Zaman, who has five daughters and one son, allegedly intended to kill all his children. However, the remaining children were spared when his pistol jammed.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident. The body of Noor Bibi has been sent for further examination.
