Casey Wasserman faces professional fallout after tabloid scandal and Billie Eilish’s departure
Casey Wasserman, chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics and owner of a prominent talent agency, is experiencing professional fallout following a tabloid report alleging “serial” affairs with junior employees. The report, published by the Daily Mail on August 1, has caused unease among stars, political figures, and industry insiders as Los Angeles prepares to host the Olympics after the Paris games.
The most significant repercussion for Wasserman is the loss of superstar client Billie Eilish, who, along with her brother Finneas, left Wasserman’s agency for competitor WME on Tuesday. Eilish’s team was reportedly “horrified” by their inclusion in the scandal, with sources telling Variety that Eilish had minimal personal interaction with Wasserman. The singer’s involvement in the Paris Olympics closing ceremony delayed her departure, but two days after the performance aired, she moved her representation to WME.
A spokesperson for Eilish confirmed the move, stating, “While grateful to their former live booking agents at Wasserman, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell have opted to have film, TV, and music handled by the same agency, WME, moving forward.” Wasserman has not commented on the matter.
The Daily Mail report also named Patricia Feau, a former assistant and current Vice President of Host City Relations for LA28, as one of the employees involved in the alleged affairs. Feau denied the allegations to the Daily Mail. Despite the controversy, a spokesperson for LA28 confirmed that the organization would not conduct an internal investigation.
Wasserman, known for his carefully curated public profile and ties to the Democratic party, has recently been in the spotlight for high-profile appearances, including the Met Gala and his lavish 50th birthday celebration. However, the recent scandal has cast a shadow over his professional achievements and associations.
