Tyler, the Creator is outspoken in his interview with Maverick Carter, calling out a "white kid, regular Caucasian man" for what he views as music that mocks Future and Gucci Mane.

In the clip, Tyler criticizes this artist saying, "It's not even like satire, it's like, 'I'm just joking, I'm just mocking it,' but I'm like, 'No, no, no, you can't do—and I hold rap music so close to my heart 'cause this shit changed my life and everyone's life around me and I'm a nerd about this shit."

Tyler also expressed frustration with those who publicly dismiss music as merely a way to make money. Many speculate that Tyler's comments are aimed at Ian, who has faced similar criticism.

Ian has yet to respond, but Bu Thiam, who signed Ian, addressed the situation on Instagram, writing: "Yo ©feliciathegoat, i signed lan & im from Atlanta. He sounds nothing like Gucci or future lol. It's called influence, but i never thought I'd see the day where you become old & hate on the youth lol."
