Rihanna has kept fans eagerly waiting for nearly a decade, teasing new music without any concrete details.

However, a new report from UK outlet The Sun suggests that fans may finally get the long-awaited comeback. According to the report, Rihanna is "on the cusp" of releasing her new album and plans to support it with a world tour in 2025.

The claims come from Sun journalist Jason Hardwick, who asserts that he has inside information from Rihanna's team.

He stated, "Rihanna’s ninth album is finally on the cusp of being released." Hardwick also hinted that Rihanna's return could include a massive world tour in 2025, potentially marking one of the biggest comebacks in music history. Additionally, The Sun speculates that Rihanna might headline Glastonbury after her tour.

Rihanna was initially rumored to headline the iconic festival in 2023, but her second pregnancy led to a change in plans. Hardwick claims she is once again a top contender to headline Glastonbury in 2024. While these reports are exciting, only time will tell if they come true, as Rihanna has been notoriously private about her new album's rollout.

She mentioned to Entertainment Tonight that returning to the studio took some time. "Music, for me, is a new discovery," she said, adding that she's ready to dive back into creating.

Despite the excitement of her studio work, fans faced a setback in June when Rihanna revealed she was starting the album from scratch to improve upon her previous recordings. "I’m starting over, but I don’t want to neglect the songs I already have," she explained.

"I want to listen to everything with new ears. From my new perspective, and see what.. resonate with me." With ASAP Rocky, her partner, expected to make his comeback in August, fans hope Rihanna will follow suit soon.
