Constable martyred in encounter

A police constable was martyred In the Jabbi Quaidabad area of Khushab district during an encounter with proclaimed offenders.

A spokesperson for Punjab Police said a team conducted a raid in Dohakri village to arrest a wanted criminal, Saif alias Saifu.

During a shootout, Constable Zia Akhtar was martyred after being shot in the chest, while SHO Rana Faizan and Constable Jamshed were injured.

In retaliatory fire by the police, the criminal and his accomplice were killed.

The funeral prayer for Constable Zia Akhtar were offered at the District Police Lines in Joharabad, after which he was laid to rest in his native area. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar asked the RPO of Sargodha to submit a report on the incident.
