Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentlemen’ renewed for a second season on Netflix

Netflix has officially renewed Guy Ritchie’s series The Gentlemen for a second season. The show, which stars Theo James and Kaya Scodelario as criminal partners Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass, will return for another eight episodes. Ritchie will continue to serve as both director and writer for the series, alongside co-writer Matthew Read. The show is set in the same universe as Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name but features an entirely new cast of characters.

The first season followed Eddie Horniman as he inherited his father’s country estate and discovered that Glass and her incarcerated father had been running a cannabis empire on the property. Initially intending to distance his family from the criminal underworld, Eddie instead finds himself drawn into it, realizing that he has a knack for the illicit business.

Additional cast members, including Daniel Ings, who played Eddie’s brother Freddy, will also return for the second season, with further casting announcements expected. Filming is slated to begin next year.

Variety critic Aramide Tinubu praised the first season, describing it as “a brilliant show about legacy, family, and the thrills of self-discovery.” Netflix U.K.’s content VP remarked to Variety, “With its gun-toting chickens and drug-dealing Dukes, The Gentlemen was a huge hit with audiences in 2024... We are thrilled the series will be returning to Netflix for a second season.”

The series is produced by Moonage Pictures, with executive producers including Ritchie, Read, Will Gould, Frith Tiplady, and Marc Helwig for Miramax Television.
