Belgian woman abandoned in Islamabad after five days of alleged sexual assault
A Belgian woman was found abandoned in Islamabad’s G-6 area after allegedly being sexually assaulted for five days, according to police reports.
The foreign national, whose hands and feet were bound, was left by unidentified individuals who fled the scene. The police were alerted by a resident who called the emergency helpline.
In her initial statement, the 28-year-old victim recounted that she had been subjected to sexual violence for five consecutive days. The police have transferred her to Polyclinic Hospital for a medical examination.
Meanwhile, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the alleged rape, following the victim’s identification of the perpetrator, according to police sources.
The victim, Silvie Stina, identified the man who tied her hands as Tamizuddin. Acting on her identification, Aabpara police arrested Tamizuddin from his residence.
During interrogation, Tamizuddin claimed that the foreign woman is mentally ill and did not have her identification or travel documents with her. The police will conduct another search of Tamizuddin's house to locate the woman's documents. Tamizuddin has also been sent to Polyclinic Hospital for a medical examination.
