Tributes have been made for Olly Marmon, the partner of X Factor contestant James “Jaymi” Hensley, who died after falling from a hotel window.
Olly Marmon, 33, was declared dead following a tragic fall from the third-floor window of the three-star Hind Hotel in Wellingborough on Sunday night.
He was engaged to 34-year-old Jaymi, who gained fame as a semi-finalist on X Factor with the boy band Union J in 2012.
The couple was reportedly only weeks away from their wedding after being together for 15 years.
On Sunday night, Olly, a Rushden native, was pronounced dead following the fall, which occurred shortly after 11:30 PM.
Northamptonshire Police initiated a murder investigation, but on Tuesday they closed the case and released a man who had been arrested without filing any charges.
The investigation was concluded after a postmortem determined that Olly's death resulted from injuries incurred during the fall.
In tributes issued by Northamptonshire Police, his family expressed their sorrow.
His mother, Julie, described him as spiritual and passionate about the outdoors.
She wrote, “The relationship I had with Oliver was so special, he was my best friend. We spoke every single day. He called me mummy, he used to call me his guardian angel.
“Oliver was so caring, loving, quiet and always put others before himself. He was a very talented hairdresser, and it was a passion he took seriously.”
His father Leigh and stepmother Vanessa Marmon wrote, “Your life was too short, but you squeezed so much into it. You were so kind-hearted, a gentle soul who was just so beautiful inside and out.”
