George Clooney has expressed his displeasure with director Quentin Tarantino for questioning his status as a movie star. The two worked together in the 1996 cult classic 'From Dusk Till Dawn'. In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Clooney recalled Tarantino's comments from another interview, where he seemingly dismissed Clooney's star power.

Tarantino had reportedly listed several actors as movie stars, but when asked about Clooney, he said, "He's not a movie star." He further challenged the interviewer to "name me a movie since the millennium," seemingly undermining Clooney's career achievements in recent years.

Clooney, who has starred in numerous successful films since the year 2000, including 'Ocean's Eleven', 'Syriana', and 'The Descendants', was understandably "a little irritated" by the remarks. While acknowledging the luck of working with talented directors like Tarantino, Clooney emphasized the importance of both a good director and a good script for a successful film.

It remains unclear which specific interview Tarantino's comments were made in. However, in 2022, Tarantino criticized the "Marvelisation of Hollywood," arguing that franchise characters, not the actors portraying them, have become the real stars.

The GQ interview also featured Brad Pitt, Clooney's co-star in the upcoming film 'Wolfs' and a frequent collaborator with Tarantino. Pitt recalled Clooney's outspokenness about paparazzi intrusion after Princess Diana's death, seeing him as a "leader" at that moment. Both actors discussed the challenges of maintaining privacy in the spotlight, especially when it comes to protecting their children.

Clooney and Pitt's upcoming film, 'Wolfs', will see them play fixers forced to work together. Despite the playful jab at Tarantino, Clooney maintains a focus on his craft and the importance of collaboration in filmmaking.
