PHP arrests over 200 POs in weekly operations

The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) checked 1,063,161 individuals on the highways using the e-police post application, leading to the arrest of 204 proclaimed offenders and court absconders.

The department also inspected 521,534 vehicles, recovering 106 stolen vehicles and motorcycles during the operations.

As part of its ongoing road safety campaign, the PHP issued 78,535 e-challans for various traffic law violations.

The report highlighted the department's efforts in axle load management, where 14,474 overloaded vehicles were fined, and necessary legal actions, including offloading, were taken. A total of Rs33.2 million were collected in fines.

The PHP also cracked down on the illegal use of gas cylinders, taking legal action against 353 vehicles.
