Malaysian diplomats attend festive event

MIH staff organises celebration, hosts delegation to strengthen relations

ISLAMABAD:

Malaysian diplomats were invited to an Independence Day celebratory event organised by a private hospital in the federal capital.

Malaysian Deputy High Commissioner, Mohd Syafiq Firdous Bin Hasbullah, along with his delegation attended the Jashan-e-Azadi event, which included festive activities to mark the occasion. The event was arranged by and held at the Maroof International Hospital (MIH).

In his address, Mohd Syafiq Firdous Bin Hasbullah emphasised the strong Islamic, historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and Malaysia, referring to the two nations as "Islamic brothers". He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all Pakistanis on the occasion of the Independence Day and commended the hospital staff for organising the event.

The staff of MIH took part in the celebrations by decorating their respective departments. These decorations were then evaluated by the hospital management, and prizes were awarded to the five teams with the best decorations.

The Operation Theatres secured the first prize, followed by the Radiology Department in second place, while the Research Department, Outpatient Department and Early Intervention Therapy Unit shared the third position. Certificates of appreciation and cash prizes were also distributed to the winning teams.

Notably, the Operation Theatres and Research Departments paid tribute to Pakistan's sporting hero, Arshad Nadeem, by including posters that highlighted his achievements. Their efforts celebrated his remarkable contributions that have made the nation proud.

On this occasion, MIH CEO Haroon Naseer said, "As we celebrate the birth of our nation, let us remember the sacrifices of our forefathers and renew our commitment to the principles of unity, faith and discipline. At MIH, we strive to embody these values in our service to the community. Together, we can build a healthier, stronger Pakistan. Happy Pakistan Day to all!"

In a gesture of appreciation towards the dedicated staff of MIH, Haroon Naseer also announced exciting prizes, including Umrah tickets, a motorbike and various electronic appliances, which will be distributed later, through a lucky draw. He congratulated the Operation Theatres for their outstanding efforts in winning the first prize.
