Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand delayed by copyright issues
Meghan Markle has encountered delays in launching her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, due to copyright issues.
The brand, which features food and wellness products, has faced challenges in securing its name, causing complications for a related Netflix show.
The Duchess of Sussex had planned to unveil the brand with a line of products, including jam sent to 50 influencers and celebrities.
However, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office flagged issues with the classification of certain items, such as yoga blankets, picnic baskets, and recipe books.
As a result, the release of the Netflix show, which was intended to complement the brand by exploring home, garden, and lifestyle content, has reportedly been pushed back to mid-2025.
Royal commentator Tom Quinn noted that Prince Harry, despite his unwavering support, is not equipped to assist Meghan with her business venture.
Quinn told the Daily Express, "Harry has never had any real idea about becoming an entrepreneur or a businessman in his own right."
The show, part of Meghan and Harry's $100 million Netflix deal, is expected to "celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship."
