Disney Channel star Skai Jackson was arrested last week for misdemeanor domestic battery following an incident with her boyfriend at Universal CityWalk, TMZ reports. According to law enforcement sources, deputies responded after security observed Jackson pushing her boyfriend multiple times. Despite both parties denying that anything physical occurred, video footage reviewed by deputies led to Jackson's arrest. She was cited and released after a few hours.
Jackson, 22, and her boyfriend reportedly claimed to be "happily engaged and expecting a baby together," despite the allegations. The case is currently under review by the L.A. County District Attorney's Office to determine whether charges will be filed.
Jackson, who transitioned from child actress to a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, has largely kept her relationship private, with little known about her boyfriend. She gained fame for her roles on Disney Channel and has since expanded her career to include voice acting, commercials, and music videos. In 2018, she voiced Glory Grant in a Marvel animation series and published her debut novel, Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback. She also competed in Dancing With The Stars in 2020, reaching the semi-finals.
