‘Nation won’t find anyone like me’: Khalilur Rehman declares after scandal
Pakistani screenwriter and director Khalilur Rehman Qamar has stated that this nation will not find another person like him, expressing deep disillusionment after a recent incident.
In an interview with a private channel, Qamar remarked, "There was only one Bulleh Shah, only one Saadat Hasan Manto, and there is only one Khalilur Rehman Qamar. This nation will not find another like me."
Reflecting on his ordeal, where he was held hostage for seven hours and repeatedly forced to recite the Kalima while shots were fired near him, he revealed that he is now contemplating whether to continue living in the country.
Despite his current despair, he emphasised that he has never hated his homeland and prays for the strength to remain, as he cannot imagine living without it.
Qamar also voiced his concerns over the rising inflation, stating that people are being crushed under the weight of economic pressures, leaving them with only two choices: to sell their own or someone else's skin.
The writer concluded by affirming his support for Maria B, who is working towards the significant cause of preserving Islamic values, stating that he stands with her in this mission.
