Grenade attack injures seven in Quetta

A hand grenade attack at Chalo Bawri Chowk in Pashtunabad, Quetta, left seven people injured. According to local sources, the attack was carried out by unidentified motorcyclists who fled the scene immediately after the assault.

The injured, identified as Khan, Mujeeb, Manan, Hazrat Allah, Abdul Malik, Sami Allah, and Imran, were quickly transported to the Trauma Center at Civil Hospital, Quetta. Medical staff at the hospital have reported that all seven victims are in stable condition but remain under close observation.

Security forces swiftly responded to the attack, cordoning off the area and initiating a thorough investigation. Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the attack, and no suspects have been identified so far. The incident has heightened concerns about the security situation in Quetta, a city that has witnessed similar violent events in the past. Local residents, alarmed by the recurring nature of such attacks, have voiced their fears and urged the government to take stronger measures to prevent future incidents.

Adding to the sense of insecurity, two separate but related incidents in Barkhan have further fueled concerns. In the first, armed individuals targeted a company trailer transporting machinery, puncturing its tires and damaging the vehicle with gunfire. Fortunately, the driver and cleaner managed to escape unharmed. In another alarming event, attackers fired on a vehicle belonging to the Barkhan Levies Force, smashing its windows and seizing government-issued weapons and valuable documents. Although no injuries were reported, the theft of the weapons and documents has raised serious concerns.

As the province prepares for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, local authorities have increased security measures to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of both residents and officials. The recent surge in violent incidents has underscored the urgent need for enhanced security in the area.
