SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan confirms military service in second half of 2024
SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan is set to commence his mandatory military service in the latter half of 2024, according to an announcement from PLEDIS Entertainment on 12 August.
The agency confirmed that although Jeonghan has completed filming much of his content in advance, he will be unable to participate in the promotion of the group’s 12th mini album or the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] World Tour, which begins in October.
Despite his impending enlistment, Jeonghan will still have opportunities to connect with fans, including a scheduled fan signing event and an appearance at Lollapalooza Berlin. PLEDIS Entertainment also mentioned that, “Further details regarding Jeonghan’s military service will be provided later in a separate notice.”
The news of Jeonghan’s enlistment has sparked widespread discussion among fans, particularly as the date draws nearer. Many have speculated that he might depart in the middle of SEVENTEEN’s upcoming tour. This speculation intensified following PLEDIS Entertainment’s announcement on 6 August 2024, which detailed the group’s RIGHT HERE World Tour. The tour is slated to begin on 12 October 2024, at Goyang Stadium in Korea, before moving on to the United States, with performances starting on 22 October 2024 and wrapping up in November in Los Angeles.
Fans noticed something unusual in the promotional materials: while the poster for the Goyang concerts featured all the group members, the poster for the U.S. dates showed no members at all. This led many to believe that Jeonghan might be enlisting mid-tour. The rumours were further fueled when a sasaeng fan allegedly leaked flight information, revealing the travel details of the members headed to the U.S., with Jeonghan’s name notably absent. However, these speculations have yet to be confirmed by either Jeonghan or PLEDIS Entertainment.
