Gypsy Rose Blanchard announces she’s expecting a baby girl with fiancé Ken Urker
Gypsy Rose Blanchard, known for her story featured in the Lifetime docuseries Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, has announced that she is expecting a daughter with her fiancé, Ken Urker. The 33-year-old revealed the news on August 10 through an Instagram post, sharing a photo from their sex reveal party, where the couple popped a balloon filled with pink confetti. In a video accompanying the post, Blanchard and Urker addressed their unborn child, with Blanchard saying, "Sweetie, I'm your mom," and Urker adding, "I'm your dad." Together, they joyfully declared, "And you are a girl."
Blanchard expressed her excitement in the caption, writing, "The moment y’all have been waiting for... It’s a girl! Ken and I are over the moon and are so excited to start our family." She also thanked their friends, neighbors, and families for their support and participation in the celebration.
Blanchard’s pregnancy comes three months after rekindling her relationship with Urker, her ex-fiancé. The two were previously in a relationship while Blanchard was serving time in prison for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard, after years of abuse. In a July interview with Good Morning America, Blanchard acknowledged the scrutiny she faces regarding her ability to be a mother, stating, "I understand that with my past, there's gonna be a lot of people that kind of question if I even should be a mother." However, she expressed her determination to learn from past mistakes and provide her child with the care and love she wished she had received.
Blanchard also clarified that Ken Urker is the father of her baby, explaining that she left her ex-husband, Ryan Anderson, in mid-March, making the paternity clear.
