Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited F-9 Park on Saturday to review preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
On this occasion, the CDA Member Environment, CDA Member Engineering, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad DIG and other relevant officials were also present. The CDA chairman reviewed the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations, which has been aptly titled 'AzadiFest'.
During the briefing given to the chairman and chief commissioner, it was highlighted that various programmes have been arranged in F-9 Park for the AzadiFest.
The chairman spoke about the various programmes which were being arranged as part of AzadiFest by mentioning that it would include the first-ever drone show in the capital. Additionally, he announced that a specific area in F-9 Park would be allocated for tree planting so that families, youth, and children attending the events can plant trees in the designated area.
He also inspected the arrangements for a musical concert and fireworks. He stated that the various events had been arranged in a grand manner in honour of Independence Day.
Emphasis was laid on the need for a better traffic plan during the Independence Day celebrations to ensure the best parking arrangements for citizens participating in these events. Similarly, the Chairman suggested that separate entry gates and areas should be designated in F-9 Park for families, children and youth during the celebrations so that there could be less traffic congestion.
