SHC dismisses FBR officers' transfer challenge

The provincial High Court of Sindh (SHC) has thrown out a civils suit filed by some senior FBR officers against their transfers. The SHC on Saturday issued its verdict on the suit filed by 12 FBR officers of grade-20 from the Inland Revenue Service.

During arguments, Sindh Additional Attorney General (AAG) Zia-ul-Haq Makhdoom argued that FBR officers cannot directly approach the high court. According to the law, the petitioners do not have the provision to initiate civil proceedings.

The petitioner's lawyer contended that on July 3, 2024, the FBR illegally transferred the 12 officers to various regions.
