Committee seeks written replies from ministers

The committee formed on the orders of Imran Khan to investigate corruption complaints against different ministries in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has summoned ministers, and written statements have been sought from those ministers who appeared before the committee.

Official sources told The Express Tribune that in the next phase, the minister of food and health departments will be summoned who will be told to submit written replies.

Reports of serious differences within the cabinet and changes in ministers' portfolios have also started to surface and the committee has also been tasked to investigate these differences.

Sources said that on the instructions of former chairman, a committee has been formed to address and investigate corruption complaints and the findings will be sent to Imran Khan for further action.

The committee, comprising of former governor Shah Farman, Qazi Anwar, and Advisor to Chief Minister on Anti-Corruption Musaddiq Abbasi, has started investigating complaints received against various departments and ministers.

The committee has started summoning ministers one by one. Statements have been recorded by the Communications and Works department, and written statements are being sought from all the ministers in this regard.

In this regard, Qazi Anwar Advocate, a member of the committee, told The Express Tribune that ministers against which complaints were received are being asked to appear before the committee and submit their point of view.

The committee is working in a fair and transparent manner and will submit its report to Chairman Imran Khan, who will decide the fate of different cabinet members.

Meanwhile, reports of differences within the K-P cabinet have also started to surface, and some ministers have complained that external interference is being made in their departments.
