Govt targets distribution of 50,000 free solar home systems

Provincial Minister for Energy, Development and Planning Sindh Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that all possible measures are being taken rapidly to distribute 50,000 solar home systems to the people in August this month.

Talking to the media on Friday he expressed hope that the distribution of solar panels will be completed soon. The energy minister said that the supply of solar systems in August is a link in the series of distribution of 200,000 solar systems to the public. He said that special attention is being paid to merit and transparency in the solar system distribution project Nasir Hussain Shah said that PPP had promised to provide up to 300 units of free electricity to the people, which has been completed to a large extent.

The energy minister said that people are very worried about the extremely high electricity bills that they have to bear the household expenses or pay the electricity bills. He said that the people suffering from the burden of inflation cannot pay the high electricity bills. PPP is well aware of the problems and sufferings of the people.

There is no shortage of alternative energy sources in the province of Sindh, electricity can be generated from the sun, wind and water.

Shah further said that solar parks are being built in different districts of the province. The electricity generated from solar parks will be given to National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC).
