Kesha, the pop star who skyrocketed to fame with her debut single "TiK ToK," celebrated the 15th anniversary of the song on August 7 in a unique and humorous way. The 37-year-old singer shared a TikTok video in which she brushed her teeth with Jack Daniel's whiskey, referencing the famous lyric from the 2009 hit: "Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack."

In the video, Kesha initially grabs a Spotify plaque commemorating 1 billion streams of her 2013 single "Timber," but quickly switches it for the correct plaque, which marks the same milestone for "TiK ToK." She then pours whiskey into the plaque's silver saucer, dips her toothbrush, and proceeds to brush her teeth, embodying the carefree spirit of the song.
Kesha also took to social media to reflect on the impact of "TiK ToK," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks and sold over eight million units in the U.S. since its release. "TiK ToK was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited," she wrote. She expressed pride in the song's lasting ability to bring joy, stating, "15 years later, I see this song as a snapshot into the way I saw the world at the time."
Kesha also addressed her decision to alter the song's opening lyric from "Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy" to "Wake up in the morning, like, 'F--- P. Diddy'" following allegations against Sean "Diddy" Combs. "I absolutely love the new lyric change," she noted, adding that she plans to re-record the song when she has the legal rights to do so.
