On August 8, rappers Quavo and Travis Scott brought a playful twist to the National Anthem during the basketball semifinals at the Paris Olympics.

Rather than following tradition, the duo decided to capture the moment on their phones, resulting in a comedic and decidedly offbeat rendition of the anthem.

Quavo, who held the phone, maintained a more subdued presence, while Travis Scott embraced the moment with gusto, especially during the line “banner give way.”

Despite the humorous attempt, it was clear that the rappers were more focused on entertaining themselves and the crowd than delivering a flawless performance.

Travis Scott’s outfit also caught the public's eye; he sported a Sand Springs Public Schools letterman jacket, which led to an unexpected boost in visibility for the Oklahoma-based school.

Sand Springs Public Schools took to Facebook to highlight the free promotion, noting, "Medals aren't the only gold things at the Olympics today."

Meanwhile, Quavo has been making headlines beyond the Olympics.

The rapper recently supported Vice President Kamala Harris at a campaign rally in Atlanta, praising her efforts on gun control and reflecting on their past collaborations.

Quavo also announced his upcoming album, with his latest single, "Fly," featuring a sample of Lenny Kravitz's "Fly Away."
