KARACHI:

The Sindh government has decided to provide tablets to students for their convenience, starting with grades IX to XI in the first phase, said Sindh Textbook Board (SYBB) Chairman Abdul Aleem Lashari on Thursday.

The chief minister will make the final announcement regarding this initiative, Lashari said, talking to the media at STBB warehouse.

Concurrently, the distribution of 30 million free textbooks is underway in 30 districts of Sindh, with a completion target of August 14.

STBB hosted an event at their Karachi warehouse, where Lashari announced the distribution of free tablets to students in grades IX to Inter.

He told the media that this initiative aims to prevent delays or shortages of books, ensuring uninterrupted studies. The first phase will focus on senior classes, followed by other classes in the second phase. The Sindh Textbook Board plans to become paperless, aligning with modern requirements, pending the Chief Minister's approval. After their approval, we will start working on it regularly, he added.
