Taylor Swift's Vienna concerts cancelled: Swifties in shock over alleged terrorist threat

Numerous Taylor Swift fans who were set to attend one of the pop star’s three concerts in Vienna are now feeling shocked by the cancellations.

“Everyone in our hostel is shell-shocked,” one eyewitness with a ticket to attend a show exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting the property was fully booked with concertgoers and had even planned special Swiftie “karaoke nights” to mark the occasion.

Swift, 34, was slated to hold three concerts at Austria’s Ernst Happel Stadium from Thursday, August 8, to Saturday, August 10. However, all three events were cancelled due to a purported terrorist threat.

“Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Vienna shows cancelled due to government officials confirmation of planned terrorist attack,” a statement from concert organisers Barracuda Music read via Instagram on Wednesday, August 7. “With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety.”

In the announcement, Barracuda stated that all ticket holders would receive refunds. Swift has not yet commented publicly on the situation or whether she plans to reschedule the Vienna concerts.

Another source revealed to Us that the hotel lobby is currently “full of girls” in Swift-themed merchandise, “just standing around staring at each other in a state of total shock right now.”

Swift began the European leg of her record-setting Eras Tour in May, drawing significant interest from both locals and tourists eager for tickets. According to the second insider, the Vienna concerts attracted so many attendees that the hotel doesn't “have enough room keys because so many people are here.”

Neither source has immediate plans yet, but they believe that Swift addressing the situation could alleviate some of their concerns.
