Anne Hathaway is marking the 20th anniversary of The Princess Diaries 2 and honoring Kelly Clarkson.

On Wednesday, August 7, Hathaway, 41, posted on Instagram, “Happy 20th anniversary to #PrincessDiaries2 and @kellyclarkson’s Breakaway!”

The post included a clip from the music video of Clarkson’s hit song, which was part of the film's soundtrack.

In the video, Clarkson exits a limo and strikes a pose for photographers on the red carpet at the world premiere of The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, before heading into the theater to watch the movie.

Later, she watches the coming-of-age film again while experiencing a turbulent plane ride.

“QUEENS 👑,”commented the official Instagram account for Clarkson’s talk show.

Hathaway also posted a collection of nostalgic photos from the filming of the sequel, featuring behind-the-scenes moments with co-stars Chris Pine and Julie Andrews, as well as director Gary Marshall, who passed away in 2016 from pneumonia.

The original Princess Diaries was released in 2001, followed by the sequel three years later.

In the franchise, Hathaway plays Mia Thermopolis, an unpopular high school student who discovers she is the Princess of Genovia, as revealed by her grandmother, Queen Clarisse (Andrews).

The sequel centers on Mia as she embraces her role as queen.

Following years of speculation about a third film, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed in November 2022 that Disney was working on a new installment.
