Drake confirms Serena Williams inspiration for hit song 'Too Good'
Drake has finally confirmed what many fans suspected - his 2016 hit song "Too Good" was inspired by his past romance with tennis icon Serena Williams. The 37-year-old rapper recently shared a previously unseen video clip on social media, where he discusses the song's origins with his mother, Sandi Graham.
In the clip, Drake explains, "I get heavy on a couple joints, but this is more about me and Serena." He goes on to say, "It's funny because when I make songs about women, I also make songs for them. So, I know what kind of song to make."

The five-time Grammy winner further reveals his thought process behind writing "Too Good": "If I'm gonna talk about them, I'll at least do them the justice of making them a song that they like. So, I know Serena very well, and I know that she'll hear it loud and clear, but she'll also not hate me for it because it's lighthearted."When asked by his mother if Serena was seeing someone else at the time, Drake hesitates before responding, "I don't know, mom."
The revelation comes years after Drake and Williams were spotted getting cozy in August 2015, sparking rumors of a romance. Shortly after, Williams began dating Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, whom she later married.
